Summer Course with Paul Beier

- renaissance and baroque lute

Enter with Paul Beier into the lute world by the Losy's gate.

21. - 25. 8. 2009 at Castle Štěkeň (Czech Republic) - for some picture see our gallery Štěkeň

This course is oriented on wide spectrum of interpretation of lute music in 16-18th century, and takes place in atmospheric castle where the most famous lutenist of 17th century Jan Antonin Losy was born.

Except attending the morning and afternoon individual lessons, you will have an opportunity to take part in a recital of Paul Beier or jamming together in the evenings.

Together with other participants you will also play in a concert hall where Losy himself used to give concerts.

In addition to the lessons and workshops  there will be a Paul Beier´s concert, a concert of the church music of the Losy´s time (Societas Incognitorum), a lecture "Prince of the lutenists - Jan Antonin Losy" by M. Študent and lecture/workshop with J. Čepelák  "Lute between lutemaker and lutenist"

On the top of all the activities there will be a possibility to use a relevant portion of the In Cordis archive with journals of English, German and Italian lute societies, selected volumes of Lute News and Lute Quarterly, and some special instruments for the consort playing (soprano lute, cittern ecc.)

We also offer special offer price on purchase Aquila lute strings. Additioanaly there is a small sight seeing expedition to Prague and Nelahozeves – to visit places connected with Losy and other lutenists of his time.
